Trusting the Journey

Without the right tools, mindset, and support only 8% of the population are successful with New Years Resolutions.

Have you ever set a goal to say buy a house, a car or save for a vacation or even to pay down debt?

How long were you successful on that path?

Most people derail themselves shortly after they get started and never make significant progress.

Without the right tools, mindset, and support only 8% of the population are successful with New Years Resolutions.

If you don't have a coach or someone else to hold you accountable it can be even more challenging.  In today's society, we are constantly bombarded with advertising encouraging us to live a very materialistic lifestyle, making it even harder to keep up with our financial goals.   I have set some pretty steep financial goals for myself for the next 15 months and as a coach, it can still be challenging. I am fortunate to be a strong-willed woman with a huge toolbox of resources to draw upon to support myself.

The other day, I felt a bit challenged as I was being tempted by some shiny objects and spontaneously took my book The  Secret off the shelf and opened it to the following quote by Jack Canfield.  Perspective is everything.

"Think of a car driving through the night.  The headlights only go a hundred to two hundred feet forward, and you can make it all the way from California to New York driving through the dark because all you have to see is the next two hundred feet.  And the is how life tends to unfold before us.  If we just trust that the next two hundred feet unfold after that, and the next two hundred feet will unfold after that, your life will keep unfolding.  And it will eventually get you to the destination of whatever it is that you truly want because you want it."

This principle can be applied to anything in life including, getting out of debt, parenting in a challenging situation,  dealing with health issues or even the grieving process.

Whatever you strive for, you have to trust, believe, have faith, and hold your clear vision of what you want. (and a little patience!)

Warmly,

Maria
